guppy dies unusually

My male guppy just suddenly died it was doing just fine until a few minutes ago when I found him. Any ideas?

How long have you had him? How long has the tank been set up? How big is the tank? What tankmates? What are the tank parameters (ammonia nitrate ect.)?

3 gallons
Water quality perfect except for the 1.0 nitrite level it just Started. On Sunday it was perfect

I am glad you are interested in guppies. They are fun and colorful little guys. Unfortunately, a 3g tank is really too small for them. In small tanks like that, they don't have enough room to get their exercise and the water gets foul really quickly. The nitrite level is high, and I am guessing the tank needs to cycle, but I suggest you try to get a 10g tank. You can get a 10g tank for like $25 at WalMart.

Did you cycle it in that 1 month? If the tank is cycled, you could try a different, smaller species in there instead of guppies. Here is a good link about starting aquariums.

Yeah I was planning on getting a few 10 gallon tanks I was going to use the 3 gallon for my fry
