I would do a water change and dilute the water as it sounds like a reaction to the pimafix. I find it can kill fish if they get a strong dose. I tend to use it for fish looking a bit off, half dose and not dose so often.

I was also told to add bakimg soda as well to harden the water which i did i was not aware it raised the ph

Ooof, yah a rapid ph fluctuation is not going to help anything, do some water changing if possible..

I did one last night hiw often can u do them im trying to medicate for a fungal eye imfection but im willing to hold off if it means making the other fish happier and less stressed them resume tge medication... they seem to b breathing fast the angels will go to the top every now and again for a breather but otherwise swimming around and.the barbs and kirb just seem to b breathing fast and my bristlenose keeps darting to the top of the tank it has done it since we got it but its just more often now is there a way to remedy this before amy fish actually die

If it were my tank id def do another wc, I'd keep doing then until fish started acting normal anyways.

Ive just put in a air stone and they seem to b alot better they arent breathing as fast but 3 out of 4 of my angels dont seem all that impressed by it but the rest r swimmng around happily ph is now sitting 7.0-7.2. I use tlc as my bacteria for cycling should i start adding that back in the tank and lay off medicating or finish the medication (only done one dose got 6 to go) and then get the tlc going again. I am mega confused i no one of my fish r sick hence y doing the medication and fear it has spread another reason for medicating thw whole tank. So some of my question may cme across stupid so pkease bare with me

Ok so whoa. Let's go back here, tank size, age, stock, water parameters??

180L been going 5months 4 angels 6 barbs 1 kirbensis cichlid and one bristlenose. There was a bit of ammonia wen i had the water checked yesterday but the petstore told me it was what they would expect to see as new fish were added a week ago (hidsight i dont think the petstore should of encouraged us to buy these fish wen they new our angel had cloudy eye well thats what they called it) but they were happy with the ammonia level nitrate and nitrites were fine ph is 7.0-7.2 kh 0

Fair enough, so if you haven't done a wc today if recommend doing one, than hopefully someone with a better understanding if the meds you are using/ problem will jump in here.

From what i was told by a fish and repile specialist the medication im using is safe and should not harm any of the fish as it is natural but it means i wil b recycling at the end of if that much i understand she said that it will lower the oxygen.levels in.the tank hence y i got a bubble pump and air stone and it has seemed to make a difference most of the fish seem happier just the sick angel is still down in.the dumps

I still use pimafix. I find that if fish are off after a water change, particularly in winter - then it does help, is cheap for an entire tank and i just increase aeration. I only find it useful in early stages of infection. I have lost fish that were otherwise fine apparently to it so even though marketed as natural I find you need to watch the tank very, very carefully during treatment.

I will put another dose in tonight and.c how we go now that there is a air stone in there and.if it has the fish act weird i will do a water change and hold on.treating. just dont no what i will do with my angel i guess if the pimafix is gonna harm.the other fish then nature is going to have to take its course

Can't QT? That way you can try a medicine, small break if not curing and try another that may be more ssuccessful?

The other tank we have has a baby bristlenose and a rescued kirdensis cichlid in it and its a bit to small for our angel hes quite a large fish he wouldnt b able to swim freely and the guys i spoke to said if the angel has it chances r the other fish have been exposed so it was easier to treat them all to make sure it was all gone

Yea im hoping it all turns out ok he is the only.showing obvisious signs of being unwell but isnt.showing signs of being near death well sometimes he does but then bounces back so ive got to try something and then hopefully we will b away sailng. And this kirbensis will hopefully be happy in our big tank once she gets a bit bigger and isnt so skittish which will b nice
