Very well established 55 gallon aquarium. Set up hasn't changed in 6+ months.

I put off doing my regular water changes by two days since we're leaving on vacation tomorrow morning for nine days. Well I changed the water and put in one of the decorations I'd cleaned (using hot water and vinegar, and letting it dry completely, something I've always done).

We went out to dinner, come back and 7 lemons are dead, one is floating belly up (and died in minutes of us arriving). Nitrite 0, Nitrate 0, Ammonia .25 (normal right after a change), PH 7.2.

Only thing that has changed in the last two months is we purchased a new live plant, I didn't like the position it was in and moved it today.

Tank mates that are so far fine as can be:
1 7" Angelfish
1 Florida flagfish
2 German Blue Rams
8 Cherry Barbs
6 Skunk Corys

Anybody have a clue to this mystery?

Well the only thing that comes to mind would be if you forgot to treat with dechlorinator, otherwise I'm not sure you'll ever get a answer.
