Help with my Gourami!

A few weeks ago I noticed my pearl gourami had a large white spot on his side. Then a little later on, noticed the top of his mouth looked kind of funny. It too was white and a little pink.

I took a few pics and bought them to my fish store. They said it looked as if he cut himself up on some of the rocks in the tank.

He was looking a tad better, but today it looks as though the top part of his mouth has been eaten away or warn away. It's really odd.

Any help diagnosing this would be appreciated greatly.

Nitrites are 0
PH is 7.0
