While fish watching tonight, I noticed a few cases of ich. Looked like salt sprinkles on them. What is the best method, heat and salt? I have Platies, rummy noses tetras and pentazona barbs in there. Can these all handle salt?

I treated my ich very effectively with heat and this stuff
ImageUploadedByAquarium Advice1390340844.959902.jpg but remember to remove the carbon from your filter.

Plus a good vacuum over the gravel and regular water changes

There's no carbon in the filter anyway. I'm slowly raising the temp now. I'm still wondering if salt is worthwhile using too?

Heat should do it but if fish and plants can take it, I think salt is worthwhile. In my tank I would be almost certain of cold and hot zones.

I'm unsure of if my fish can accept salt or not? I have Platies, rummy noses tetras and pentazona barbs

Platies should be fine, I'm never done salt with the others. I did try a half dose first and then went to a full dose when they looked ok.
