I'm fairly sure my fish has Ich. I noticed a few white speckles on one fish's tail a week or so ago. Originally I though it was just the tail coloration, but then a few days later I noticed it didn't have the spots. Well, now I have 3 fish with small white spots on their tails. I just want to clarify that my treatment plan is correct.

1. Increase water temp to around 84 degrees F

2. Add aquarium salt
-According to my salt box, add 1tbsp per 5 gallon to use as a treatment
~Do I just measure and dump it in?

3. Do a 20%-50% water change & sand cleaning every 2-3 days.

Does this sound about right? Is there anythng else I should do/know?

Id do a 50% water change every two days and add half dose of salt back in of the 1 tablespoon for 5 gallons of water. The temp should reach slowly at 86 and kept there for 10-14 days. Thats about it good luck

Do not just dump the salt into the tank . . . completely dissolve it in a glass & then pour it in. Temp at 86F & leave it there for at least week after you see the last spot. Ich seems to be a big problem right now, lots of people battling it.
