I have discus that seem to be very healthy. They eat very well, dry food, frozen food. I have a uv sterilizer. Keep my water temp at 86 88 . Use some salt not to much. Do partial water changes 2 to 3 times a week . I seen a white string hanging for my discus . I was curious if anyone would know the discus in this pic looked like it had a internal parasite hanging for it? Ty ImageUploadedByAquarium Advice1421115972.503145.jpg

Its impossible to tell unless you discet the fish and look at its intestines under a microscope. It really could be any number of things, bacterial infection, viral, Hexitima HOTH gut parasite, worms, or even just a bad batch of food. You really gotta give us more information including his diet and water paramaters and behavior any outward symptoms otherwise anything we try to do to help is just a shot in the dark.
