That's ich and it's a much better photo to see it in. Poor guy is covered in it. Are you doing heat and salt or are you going to go the med route!

What do you think is quicker cheaper safer and better never had ick before so I need help also I put my new 30 gal filter in there last night to help cycle my new tank is the filter ruined

Well what worked for me, keep in mind that is serious so it may be too late, is gradually turn up the heater, about 2 degrees per hour, to 80 to 82. That will speed up the life cycle of the parasite. Then remove all carbon and add in some chemical with high amounts of methylene blue. That cleared my tank in 6 days. Do water changes frequently too.

No, the tank isn't ruined, you just must start treatment.

Alright I will be going to a aquarium warehouse soon either to day or tomorrow ill grab some mess and some salt. And can snails or black khuli loaches get ick and is my 30 gal ruined now its empty but I put the filter in the tank with ick to help cycle it and put it back before noticing the ick
