My first sick fish of the new tank..Please help!

Well I think my good luck has run out.

One of my Tiger Barbs has become extremely bloated. Upon further examination I see that there is a few raised spots on it's body. It does not look as "pinecone" as I hear Dropsy is but it is bad.

I have attached a pic. I have had these 12 Tiger Barbs in my 30 gal since May 1st. Other tank members are 2 Yo Yo Loaches, 2 Black Mollys, and 2 Otto's.

I tested the water and it showed no amonia or nitrites. That is the only two I have on me. I did a PWC when I noticed him. He doesn't seem to be having a hard time breething. The temp has been at 80 steady for a month.

Do you all think he can be treated. Hopefully the pic will help.

Try feeding peas. Could be constipation. Have you seen him poo at all?

For the peas, take some frozen peas and put in a cup of water that was boiling. Let it sit 1-2 minutes. Then take out and take the outer skin off, then squish the pea in the tank. See if he'll eat it. If it is constipation, the peas will clean him out.

Thanks LoneWolf,

I just got back from getting some peas so we will see how this goes. I don't think it looks to good, but I will try everything I can.

Unfortunately the Barb in question is starting to get the "pine cone" appearance. I tried the peas, and he seems to just be getting worse. I do not want him to suffer so I am going to have to put him down.

Thanks for your help...We Tried.
