My krib scale are sticking out like a pinecone???Bloat

Tank 20gal been rumming for 2 years.I went to feed my kribs to day and my female looks like a pinecone with here scale sticking out.I need to know what it is so i can treat asap thanks.

It sounds like dropsy to me. There are several medications available to treat dropsy. I have used Melafix with success as long as it is caught early enough. I'm sure others on here can advise if there are stronger medications for this bacterial infection.

well i put her down she looked to be in pain.What do i need to look for next time so i can try to save the fish if it happens again??

Good water quality will help prevent it. Make sure you keep up on weekly water changes.
