My poor ember tetra =(

Good morning,

I found one of my ember tetras stuck between the sponge filter and the aquarium glass this morning. I took him out with my long tweezers and put him in my hand to prepare to get rid of him. Then he started wiggling! Right now I have him in a bowl floating in the water so the temp stays good for him. He pretty much is on his side, but I do see attempts at swimming. Any ideas of what I can do for him other than wait it out?

I would euthanize him. If he can't even keep himself upright then he won't be able to eat.
