Neon throat / breathing problem

Hi,

Just uploaded a video to youtube (looks like you can here as well)

Added some neon tetras to the tank a few days ago - previously had four glowlights in for a week and a half - 25 litre tank.

The fish went through some patches where they looked like they were getting acclimatised - they all look fine now - apart from ONE of the six new neons - who was struggling to breath a lot yesterday, constantly gasping, and still is now - even now all the other fish are fine and happy.

Yesterday he was hiding from the others - now he's more sociable, not hiding, but still struggling to breath - and there is what looks like a lump under his throat - or even like the skin has been cut? Could he have suffered an injury in transit or been attacked by another so now his throat is basically cut open and that's what's causing the excessive breathing? Or perhaps something else. I think you can see 'down' the 'cut'? when he swims away as in the video.

There was a post on here over 256 days ago where someone described the exact same problem but no answers, and I wasn't allowed to add this to that thread.

Here's the youtube video: MOV 00251 1 1 - YouTube

Anyone seen anything like this before? It seems like he's going to die being honest, but just in case anyone had any other ideas?

Cheers,
J

It could be that the fish are bullying it or could be depression or gravel stuck in his mouth did you check ammonia of nitrate levels
