Nitrate and Nitrite

I have dangerously high nitrates and nitrites in my 29 freshwater tank. I took all the fish out and put them into a tank with good water and currently trying to find something to reduce the nitrate and nitrite. Any suggestions?

I did that and it created new tank syndrome.

Well then just let it sit. Keep feeding the bacteria ammonia until it gets to converting the nitrite. If there aren't any fish you can just wait it out to finish cycling.
