Oranda With Really Swollen Red Rectum

Looked at my Oranda today and she's got a really, really red swollen anus. It looks incredibly sore and painful...any ideas what it is and what I can do to remedy it. She's still swimming around perfectly, just looks so sore and I just saw it today.

You might want to check out some parasite pics. There is a parasite that is red, and hangs from the anus.

Can you post a pic??

If it is a protruding worm, it is prob calamanus.

If it is actually a prolapsed vent or rectum - like this:
Protrusion of the anal port in breeder goldfish
Then it is rather more serious. <This usu. is due to improper manual stripping of eggs, and often fatal.>

It can also be some superficial infection or injury. Without looking at it, I'd be just guessing.
