Today, 2 otos died out of 15ish. Both had a huge round belly. The rest, at least those who are we're not hiding looked fine.

I wonder what could have caused this. Ate too much? Sick fish ?

Many otos are wild caught ,so I would be very suspicious of internal parasites.
I would watch rest of tank carefully.
Hope this helps.

These are captive bred.

I've got another dead, and one more that is bulging too, but not dead yet.

....Dropsy?

I tried looking this up and couldn't find much. If my otos have dropsy, is it contagious, 3 have died already which a big belly like this and I found a 4th one laying on the substrate still breathing, but not doing much, with a huge belly.

Another thing, snails' shell are turning white?

Dropsy is generally not contagious but it's hard to say because it's less a disease and more a symptom. It can be caused by a whole host of different pathogens.

I'm so sorry :( Poor fish! We lost our beloved male betta, our first fish, to dropsy last October :'(

I hope no one else passes on, and I'm sorry for your loss :(

I also had 1 oto die today with a very large belly
