There is no way to know for sure unless your a fish biologist. Best way I have treated it is with medicated food


Go to angelplus.com. get the medicated food for parasites

Also try soaking the regular food in garlic extract. This helped mine as well. If the fish food doesn't work right away, wait for about a week and then treat again. So far this has worked for me.
