This morning I woke up to see my pleco in the corner of my tank, dead. He was a white color and his fins looked like they had been nibbled at or decayed. All other fish in the tank are very lively and healthy. This is the second time this has happened to a pleco in my tank. Might I also add that both occurrences were very sudden, and happened overnight. The night before, both plecos looked fine. The first one died in a similar way and was the same exact kind of pleco. I have yet to do a water test, but when I do I will post the results here. What could be happening in my tank?

Questions to better help you:

What size tank?
What kind of pleco?
What other fish do you have?
Is your tank fully cycled?

Also how long did the plecos live in the tank before they died?

Sounds like your take has nitrites in it. Could you do the test? Are you gonna use liquid or the strips?
