I have a Zebra Danio with strange marks on its back. Last week, when the first mark appeared, I thought it was the start of ich. But the marks aren't small and white, and they certainly don't look like sprinkled salt, as ich is sometimes described. A week later there are three marks, all near each other on the fish's "back" or "shoulder" area. I can't get a picture -- that fish moves fast! -- but they are grayish (similar in color to the non-blue stripes) and look like short, thin scars. Could they be nip marks or are they more likely a fish disease?
