Okay, my oscars aren't eating. about three days ago my son said that he turned on his bedroom light ( about ten at night after the had gone to sleep) and the fish freaked out. His said the almost jumped out of the tank. Anyway ever sinces they haven't been eating. I did a water change yestrday.

Tank = 55g tetra, filter 2 oscars 1 pleco

There are a lot of other questions that need to be answered. For starters any physical abnormalities? Have you seen them poop? If so is it white and stringy? What are your exact parameters? What temp is the tank, what do you feed and how often?

sometimes these oscars dont eat until they feel comfortable. Just gotta wait it out.

Sounds like the fish got spooked from the sudden brightness of the light. Just let him settle down. Watch for clumsy like beahvior in case he may have hit his head.
