Sick Pleco Fish

I know my Pleco is a bit older but he's developed this growth and I'm concerned. I can't find clear answers anywhere. Is this a Pleco fungus or a tumor? All the posts I see say a Pleco fungus is white but this is the same color he is. Please help me out! Thank you so much!

How old is he? Ive spoken to a fish vet before and the biggest killer in old fish ends up being cancer.

Are the bumps hard? Soft? Do they peel off?
What have you done for meds so far?

Thank you for getting back to me. To be honest I haven't tried to physically remove the bumps. I've just started a fungal removal treatment that's supposed to last 7 days. I thought that was a good place to start since he had the whitish, fungus looking stuff on him. I just didn't know if this looked like a tumor or fungus. And he's about 14 years old.
