hi, i have a red-tail shark in a 20 gal tank. Today I noticed that he was acting sort of funny. for one, he was laying on the bottom of a cave that I have. Next, i saw him swimming funnily, he did a roll. Next, i noticed he wasnt eating too much, and finally it looks like his belly is a little bigger than normal. Do you think he will be ok, or will i have to treat (and if so, what)

Hrmm. Not good. There appears to be a couple of things going on, and nothing that is easy to decipher.

First off, get us your water parameters; it may be something as simple as that.

Spinning or twisting is a sign of poisoning. But i read that it can be caused by several things ie...

Rapid swimming with no control of movement may be an indication of POISONING (Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate), OXYGEN STARVATION (including that resulting from gill damage).
