Skinny swordtail swimming oddly

I have a swordtail Ive had for three months and he isnt growing at all and then yesterday he was swimming very oddly, like floating around like he didn't care where he was. He nose dived and darted a few times too :/ what could be wrong? Pictures in next post.

All water parameters fine, though ph is at 8.2 (is always stable at that number)

45 gal. freshwater and 10 gal. female betta tanks

Here are some pictures of him. He is in a hospital tank now, with a filter from another talk so it's got bacteria on it. I also used some water from the main tank.

Well he died wish I knew what was wrong so I could have helped him.

I just came across your thread and I'm terribly sorry for your loss. I don't know what was wrong with him, but it's always sad when you lose a fish.
