Aquarium Advice Freak
Test before 50% wc:
Ammonia: ? (I cant test for it)
Nitrate: 30 ppm
Nitrite: 0 ppm
When feeding my 29g, i noticed that one pf my black skirt tetras had popeye in one eye. Its fins were also torn, and there were black spots on his scales. Its still eating also.
I just did a 50% water change also.
Tank mates (none of them are experiencing the same symptoms)
5 kuhli loaches
6 black skirt tetras
1 blue gourmami
1 golden mystery snail
1, 4.5 in common plec. (Temporary addition)
I havent added more fish to the tank for 2 or 3 months, newest being the gourami.
I cleaned out the filter last week and changed some of the media along with that. (possible ammonia spike)?
Right now its alone in a 6g qt. tank.
I imagine that its an internal bacterial infection, do any of you guys know what one it may be, also is there any treatment for it that wouldnt involve antibiotics?
