We have hundreds of these tulip shaped ... Things all over the glass. Any idea what it is? Will the narite snails eat it? Is it harmful?

I can't get a picture because they're pretty translucent and they're tiny. The "tail" sticks to the glass and these little "petals" or tentacles away in the water.

My best guess is it may possibly be hydra. Try googling pictures to see if this matches what you are seeing. Hydra will eat fry and shrimplets but can not consume larger fish. Definitely a nuisance creature in a breeding tank.
