I think I will just stick with the clove oil. I have never heard of putting an animal down with ammonia, and that's pretty much all urine is.

there has been reports that some people drink urine will treat certain ailments.

but i dont know about using it for animal.
but i do know that some ppl use urine to treat ICK.

Dropsy is like Cancer, super hard to treat.

i did treat 2 of my betta fish from Dropsy, but those 2 fish was never the same again, they seem to look weaker.

had Goldfish with dropsy. "pufferfish"
after 2 weeks of treatment swelling has gone down & fish looks almost normal. seems to be eating again. nearing end of third week in QT . found new way to keep nitrates & nitrites down . still struggling with ammonia sort of on the high end. i Have a 100 gal. tank so it seems a little easier with maintanice. I never knew carnival goldfish could get so big !!!
