I took my fish to an aquarium with a probable case of Dropsy. They are treating him there for dropsy. They said that they did a skin scraping and they found a big flat worm with a hook on its tail. They didn't know what it was. Does anybody have any idea what it could be?
All help appreciated!
thankyou!

Probably anchor worm, but if they don't know what it is then I sure don't! If it was anchor worm I'd expect them to recognize it. No matter what it is, salt treatment, serious attention to gravel vac's and likely follow-up with antibiotics are going to be called for. Parasitic worms like that are very hard to eradicate.
