What haopens if i add treatment to a tank when it isnt needed?

None of my barbs are sick I check them daily for any odd behavior, marks etc... What what happens if I add a small dosage of tetra contraspot or something similar to that? Will it do more harm then good?

Why would you want to if they are all healthy, sounds like a waste of money to me. I don't know about that med. But some are not good as in will kill bacteria in a tank. Plus it doesn't stay in the water to help protect the fish for very long. Then if you have a problem your fish may not respond well to that med cause they are use to it just like if it was you or I. Just my opinion and I hope this helps just keep up on your pwc and you should be fine.

I was just wondering say I mis diagnose a fish or something like that. Also when I buy plants I put them in a bucket with water and I added a little of the treatment and I leave them there for an hour or so.

But yeah I haven't added any treatment thanks
