What matks are on my pleco?

My brittle nose pleco was missing for 4 days and he has just come out from hiding tonight but iv noticed a couple of pinkish fleshy marks on his face and side. Can anyone tell me what this is please? Here's a pic

Looks like he was in a fight or was stuck somewhere. Those look like missing scales. Up your water changes, keep the the very clean and gravel vacuum. What is in your tank stock wise?

One rainbow cichlid, 1 opaline gourami, 3 panda cories, 1 spotted Raphael catfish, 6 neon tetras and 2 small killifish

I would just watch for aggression. Change your water twice a week. He'll heal, might have scars though depending on how far they cut into him.

But there's no aggression in the tank so I don't see how he has got them. He just disappeared for 4 days must have gone under the sand or sumfin

The aggression may happen while your asleep after light out. So watch during feeding time for clues
