white spot on bettas body and tail?

I just noticed a white spot on my bettas body and one on his tail. Is this fungus and what is the Best way to treat? He is eating great and very active, not scratching so I dont think it is ick. I just dont want it to get worse or him getting sick. I bought Para Guard and bettafix but I heard bettafix is no good. I dont want to make him worse wirh medication.

It sounds like fungus. In my experience, salt REALLY helps.

Thank you! I got aquarium salt but hear some say its good others say no but if it worked for you I will put some in his tank. His water is perfect I do 30 percent water changes every week in his filtered tank and 0 ammonia and 0 nitrites and 0 nitrates. I did remove a silk plant that had a scratchy part. What causes fungus and can it be prevented. I am glad your fish did well. I am going to try the salt.m.m
