White stringy stuff and layer on live plants and fish

I'm trying to pin point a solution to a bacteria/fungus that is growing in my aquarium, on my fish, and on my live plants. The one on my plants look like hair bacteria but my fish are covered in a white stringy layer like of stuff as well. Can you point me in the direction of a cure by chance?

could be parasite, could be slime coat issue from bad water conditions. We really need to know a lot more before we can help you. ie: all the stuff on the " Before posting about unhealthy fish, read this!" post
