2 New Additions

I just received 2 new additions and would like some opinions or facts as to what they are called.

The first one is some kind of leather, but do not know if there is a certain specie it is...

The second, I was told was a sunflower coral but aaarrrhhhhgg (Wrong answer)... Cannot find a link that looks like it so far....
Any clues?

Thanks, for the help...

Timbo2

PS, Sorry for the double post on the leather...Please remove

Your leather looks like a colt coral? Not sure on the other one.

The first one looks like branching Alviopora or Goniopora(hard to decipher when not expanded) or simply branching flower pot. The second one could be Colt (Cladiella)but I think it looks more like Kenyan Tree Coral (Capnella)

You may only get Genus, species is often impossible to determine.

As far as the scleractinian, Alveopora has 12 tentacle tips per polyp while Goniopora has 24.

The soft coral looks to be a species of Xenia or possibley Cespitularia. Would need to see it fully extended though.

Cheers
Steve
