I want to say either a kenya tree or a colt coral. Hard to tell when it's closed up. Is it a soft coral?

I think that's a Chili coral. If so, it's extremely difficult to keep alive.

Yeah it's a soft coral. Hopefully it will have opened soon and il post another picture. Thanks for the replys

I haven't seen it open yet. But it is more the colour of the the colt.

well looking at this pict I do know it's not a chili coral as they are more reddish

and I would lean more towards a colt coral since it's more pinkish

Looks more like a colt than a carnation coral as well.

Anyway I can encourage it to open. At the minute it's on the bottom of my tank in a low - medium flow

Mine took a month to open I would just leave it. There easily adaptable to most locations in the aquarium

Moved this coral to a less light and more flow part of the tank and it has now opened. Can anyone give a positive id on it now sorry about the bad photos. iPhone to blame

Gersemia rubiformis?
Sea strawberry.

Not a photosynthetic coral eitherway IMO.
Plankton and appropriate micro life being target fed may get it to open more.
I have never had much luck with Non PS soft corals myself.

Thanks for the reply. Now I have the name I can research it. Seems to be a lot happier now and I think it has grown slightly in the 2 months I've had it.
