Algae ID please =)

Can someone tell me what type of algae this is (besides green algae)? It's been growing on my ls for about a month now. It seems that the algae is like a blanket because I can pick it up with my cleaning rod and it will fold-up.

Could it be green hair algae? What can I do with it? My crabs and snails don't eat it, nor do any of my tangs. Is it safe to clean it up and throw it away?

TIA,

RDF

It's cyano. Yep, it comes in green also. There is an article on cyano in AA's article section, have a look.

wow, that was quick! Thanks for the response. I checked out your article and it gave me great information on how to handle it.

Thanks again!
