Any ideas?

Any ideas what this green feather like plant is...if you look closely, it almost looks like a small fern. Any ideas what this could be?Click image for larger version

That would be a type of hair algae most likely.

Its not green hair algea, its almost iridescent....and looks like a feather

There are many types of hair algae, to include byropsis. It is a green macro algae, if taking the general hair name away from it helps any.

Well, all algae growth will assist with nutrient levels in the system. Even with that, I'd be worried about it irritating that bird's nest frag.

I have cheato in my sump for that, so i should probably just try to pull it off my birds nest then.
