Hi,
Can anybody help ID this.
Sorry about the picture quality, it was taken at night with a torch.

I've only seen this once.
It looks like a slug with polyp's on it.

Is it safe to have in my tank?

Thanks.

So it moves around?

It looks like it but its also a little different Id say if u got another tank and it comes out again catch it put it in the other tank and let it grow a little more so u can identify it cuz if it is a bad slug ur coral may be screwed. But if its a good slug like the lettuce nudibranch then ur algey is screwed. :)

Yeah it moves.
I doubt I'll see it again for a while.
I've only recently been looking in the tank at night.
Found alot of critters I never knew I had.

Ya that will happen in salt water tanks when u have live rocks shipped in or corals from different places. There can be lots of eggs or small baby critters hitchen a ride on those rocks. And thats part of the fun of a salt water tank. Plus it's pretty. :)

Too bad I only have a 5 gallon fresh water. But it's still great. :)
