This red started out as a tint and this is what I came home to. What the heck is this stuff?!

hard to tell but looks like that with an added bonus of bubble algae. But it's hard to tell

So...should I just break off the nest where it's infected?

Wow! I went out for a bit and I just got home. It's WAY worse! What should I do?!

I'll let someone else answer that but there's no bubble algae, those are just bubbles that have formed under the algae and are trapped inside

Definitely cyano....it can kinda come and go throughout the day....a lot now, a little in the afternoon...anyone ever told you what to do about cyano? If not just search the site foe cyanobacteria and you will find everything you need to know about getting rid of it.

Scrub it off (gently) with a toothbrush. And yeah... it's cyano.
