Big crab!

Check out his crab! I had a decent size crab that came with some LR but either he molted and doubled in size or this guy has been hiding.

Can this be ok or should I try and remove him? I stuck a glass in the tank and have it tilted with some pellet food in the bottom to see what I get tonight but I just had to post the pic.

Also, could this guy be making some popping noises? I have heard that pistol shrimp or mantis shrimp will pop but my rock is a couple of months old and I am just now hearing it?

IME, most crabs are guilty until proven innocent, I'd remove it.

Could be either, might have been very small before and just now getting to the size to make itself heard.
