Black fuzzy thingy

I cant get a good picture due to the fact that it's in a really weird spot and the Iphone takes terrible pics. It looks like a little black ball of fuzz. when I first noticed it there was only one about the size of a pencil eraser, maybe a bit smaller. Now there is more....a line of it about half inch long...any thoughts? Again sorry no picture! I will try to get one but no promises

Well, usually they are nocturnal.
I doubt it is an urchin, but look at it at night, maybe u see something

On an off chance look up Christmas tree worms and feather dusters. I know there can be colonies of small feather dusters varying in color. If you have fish in the tank that are bothering them during the day they will come out at night to feed.

Have you poked it? If/when you do how does it react?

I looked at it last night and I actually didnt see it. I did poke it and it feels squishy. its no any sort of worm. Its on the flat face of the rock..I just dont know

Wierd well if you don't want it in your tank scrape it of or burn it off
