Bugs Bugs and more bugs

I have had my tank running for about 5 months now, but I have never looked in my tank at night until last night. What I found to my suprise was hundreds and hundreds of tiny bugs swimming in the water. During the day time I dont see them at all. My question is is this normal? Also, what are they copeopds?

Probably copepods or amphipods and that's great free fresh food for your fish.
