I have had this shrimp for a little while and I just happened to read that this may not be a peppermint shrimp but may be a camel shrimp which is not reef safe.

I know the picture isn't great but the guy never comes out. From what I have read an what I am seeing I do think he is a camel shrimp after all. Let me know.

Great thanks. So the vast majority of people seem to say that camel shrimp are not reef safe. He hasn't gone after anything from what I can tell but the question is, how in the world do I get him out when all he does is hide?

Make a trap...inverted bottle trap. I've seen them eat soft coral like it's their last meal. In my case it was xenia, and I later realized it was doing me a favor...but..
