In the middle of the day this stuff appeared in my biocube out of nowhere, and gone before I could snap a pic. (5-10 min)

It was 6 or 7 strands of what seemed to be white hair. One or two of them seemed to be attached to the crown of my feather duster, others were clinging to rock. In a few minutes, Gone.
Is it wrong to put a feather duster in a biocube?

Sounds like spaghetti worms. They send out sticky hairlike appendages and pick up detritus. Nothing to worry about but a pic if you can get one when they come out again, would help to say for sure.

I agree on the spaghetti worms. I have a decent pic somewhere at home. I'll see if I can dig it up.

Last night my wife called me at the restaurant, she told me there were a bunch of those white hairs again, which seemed to be eminating from the feather duster along with some white "goo". She snapped a bunch of pictures and I'll get them here as soon as I can.
