I have a bunch of what look like whitish pink "cocoons" growing on the underside of my rockwork. They are barely distunguishable to the naked eye, so a picture would be impossible. The only way I can describe is just like a cocoon, but faintly pink.

Any idea what this may be? Especially if detrimental?

Are they small little doom shaped things that look a bit like cotton? If so it is just a small sponge and nothing to worry about. HTH

I have a lot of these on the undersides of my rock and near the undersides of my powerheads on the back of the tank. I wish something would eat them..it's a little unsightly.

Yeah, they look like cotton. Sponge sounds reasonable. Thanks!
