your pic is kind of hard to see does it look like this when it's fully open?

If not it might be a zoanthid sp. If so this is a flowerpot coral.

Looks like an alveopora. How many tentacle tips on each polyp head?

It looks like it has 11 tips. I believe you are right Steve.

It is about 6-8inches long 4 inches wide, and on a nice size rock. I got it for 39.99 at a lfs when I went out of town. That had a great selection and price on corals. Does that sound like a good deal?

After the first day, it has been out and beautiful!

Oh Great!! Another Hard One!!

OK. Where should I place this? It was towards the top at the lfs, and the current seemed pretty strong. O placed it 1/2 in my tank. The water flow is moderate and the lights are just 240w of pc. What do you suggest?

How should I feed it?

It seems to be doing great, but it has only been in the tank for 3 1/2 days. :?

There is no clear evidence they do well in either intense or medium lighting set ups. From what I've read, it's pretty hit and miss one way or the other. They do like med flow and primarily come from lagoonal reef systems very high in nutrient.

If the polyps are extending and the coral looks healthy I would leave it where it is for now. As far as feedings I would rely on blender mush for the most part with phytoplankton. Just watch the water quality.

Cheers
Steve
