Corals perhaps??

The first is a spiky ball that I thought could be a sponge but the spikes have thrown me. I looks to be hanging from below a rock. I'm wondering if this is an egg/ sack??

The other is a new growth that srouted from between/ behind some new mushrooms. Is this another coral???

The second....
Is it hard?
Does it retract when distrubed?

I agree with Kevin - first is definitely a sponge, probably a Scypha sp. Lots of sponges have "spikes" (or spicules). This is what their 'skeleton' consists of, and is more obvious in some sponges than others. Take a peek at this sponge:

Your sponge is probably one in the genus Sycon, which are calcareous sponges.

The second picture is a foraminiferan. Sometimes white, sometimes red, very common. Interesting in that it is one of the few single-celled organisms visible in a reef tank. Generally stays small, is harmless, will usually stay in more dimly lit area, feeds on suspended organic material.
