Crab ID

Howdy!

Ok, so I don't have a complete crab to show, but I found this part of a shed. It was a complete claw but the movable part came off as I grabbed it out of the tank. Any ideas on what kind this is?

Looks like the top claw of this guy.

Good guess. It does look like that. Guess if I trap that one I'll put him back in. I've not caught anything but gorilla crabs and a mantis to this point.

Wow, that is some bad luck...worst I got off of LR was a million stomatella snails. I'd have set up a seperate tank for the mantis and fed him the gorillas lol.

I'm sure it would be sold or marketed as a "Porcelain Crab", but no idea on the actual species.

It does look close. The only thing is that every picture of a procelan has white claws whereas this claw has redish dots all the way to the end.

Set out another trap. We'll see what turns up this time.

They do have claws like that. I still have the claw of mine that died in my tank, it is purplish with red dots.
