morning everyone, I was out of town for 2 weeks and had someone checking on the tank. They did a good job, no casualties, but over fed big time. I am now battling this algae whenever the lights are on. Been doing 5 gal water changes and am about step it up to 10. I am working on siphoning it out when possible, but want to hear yalls opinion.

the tank is almost 2 years old, 55g with LEDs, RemoraC skimmer, and HOB filter. I Have 3 powerheads going, and don't see any obvious dead spots.

nitrates and phosphates are in range, but I know getting an accurate reading isnt possible while fighting this junk. I only feed 3 times a week.

Diatoms. Keep up the water changes and use some phosphate absorber to get rid of phosphates. Be sure to algae scrub the glass where they are present so some of them go through your skimmer and sterilizer if you have one.
