fuzzy brown legs??

ok so while feeding my tank i saw a peice of food float by a hole in my lr, and then 3 fuzzy brown legs popped out (cant see the rest of it). what does this sound like and is it safe? i cant belive all the stuff im finding in my tank the other day i found a mantis. TIA!

There are small brittle stars that live within the rock. Without a pic it's hard to say but that is what it sounds like to me.
