I'm wondering what two things are that are growing on my hammer coral.

1. I realize they grow by splitting but is this a new head that is developing lower on the coral itself? There are a few of these on the base.

2. This looks like a sponge. Any idea what this is? There are a few of them as well.

3. This glue in case you were wondering.

Yep, looks like a new head forming. The sponge I think is a ball sponge. They are harmless filter feeders and can be supplemental food for some fish.

So they grow by new heads forming at the base and by splitting?

this one just split and it's doing it again
in second see nubs at the base it wants to branch
