IMG_1523652016.412185.jpgIMG_1523652077.184987.jpgHelp i have a huge algae bloom and i need an id and to figure out what to do
phosphates below 20
ammonia 0
Nitrates 0
Nitrites 20
salinity 1.023
skimmer is corallife 65g and it’s a 55g tank
Lights reef breeders 13’ above waterline
any help would be appreciated!

Probably dinoflagellate algae guessing by the bubbles...
Could be diatoms or cyano also.
Turbo snails if it is dinos I believe..
Also 20 or even 10 is pretty high PO4 for reef tanks .. Ideal is .03-.07 with many liking .05 depending what corals they keep...
GFO will be your fastest method to remove PO4 safely.

you shouldn't have any Nitrites
I see a few frags in the tank they shouldn't be there till your cycled
concentrate on cycling your tank than worry about algae

I think op probably meant 20 nitrates and 0 nitrites. Also lights 13 feet above the tank may not be the best :p! I agree with coral, possible dinos.
