Hitchhiking coral?

I noticed these little guys on my rock about a week ago they have since almost trippled their colony size. Anyone know what they are? Type of coral maybe? Someone told me they were green star polyps.

they definitely dont look like green star polyps..they grow like a matt that is purple when they are closed
